Marin Lincoln Dinner with Kevin Faulconer`

Fellow Cabiners and friends,

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, the Marin County Republican Party will host its 2015 Lincoln Dinner.

Lincoln dinners are a key part of the Republican year. They are a time for Republicans to come together, they are a time to hear from important speakers and they are a substantial part of our fundraising efforts that make it possible for us to continue our efforts to reach our goals.

This year, the Marin County GOP’s Lincoln Dinner is especially significant for Log Cabin members. The keynote speaker will be longtime Log Cabin supporter and close friend, San Diego Mayor, Kevin Faulconer.

Mayor Faulconer has worked tirelessly in pursuit of LGBT rights. As chair of Mayors for the Freedom to Marry, he focused the efforts of 400 American mayors on the achievement of marriage equality. He made his feelings very clear;

“I am a strong supporter of marriage equality. I came to my decision after speaking with my fellow San Diegans about the importance of ensuring that everyone in love has access to the respect, dignity and protections offered by marriage. I value freedom, family, and individual liberty, and I'm proud to join Mayors for the Freedom to Marry to continue making the case for marriage nationwide.”Mayor Faulconer has worked very closely with our San Diego chapter and has appointed members to important positions in his administration.

As the only Republican mayor of the eleven largest American cities and the highest elected Republican office holder in California, his future in our party and state is secure. Many of us have a clear vision of “Governor Faulconer”. No California Republican should miss an opportunity to hear Kevin Faulconer.

The Marin County Republican party was the first of only three U.S. county Republican parties to support marriage equality and Cabiners have no more welcoming friends. Let’s return Marin’s support.

The Marin Lincoln dinner will be held at the San Rafael Community Center from 5:30 to 8:30 PM and we are planning to have one and possibly two Log Cabin tables.

Lincoln dinners often cost $75 to $100, but Marin is able to offer this wonderful opportunity to hear from one of our nation’s leading Republicans for only $50 which will include dinner.

As president of Log Cabin Republicans of San Francisco, I cannot urge you more strongly to make the Marin GOP Lincoln Dinner part of your fall plans. We need to move quickly to secure tables.
